The Museum of the Future today announced that 20 international organisations have joined the Global Futures Society, bringing its membership to 60 foresight institutions from across the globe. The announcement was made during the Dubai Future Forum 2024, the world’s largest gathering of futurists and foresight practitioners. The expanded network convened on Wednesday to explore opportunities for collaboration and to plan new initiatives.

His Excellency Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), commented: “The continuous expansion of this global network of foresight institutions reflects the growing international interest in Dubai’s and the UAE’s approach to future-building. The Global Futures Society was established in line with the country’s commitment to facilitating strategic partnerships that contribute to designing a better future.”

Launched at the Dubai Future Forum in 2022, the Global Futures Society has experienced significant growth. In 2023, 36 institutions from 17 countries joined the network, bringing its membership to 40.

Headquartered at the Museum of the Future, the society plays a central role in positioning Dubai as a global hub for foresight and collaboration, and the Museum of the Future as an incubator for global institutions, experts and all those interested in imaging and designing the future. Its members actively participate in knowledge-sharing programmes, training courses, and workshops designed to cultivate long-term design thinking and strategic planning.

The Global Futures Society provides a vital platform for foresight institutions to collaborate, exchange expertise, and identify solutions to address mega-trends and critical future opportunities. Through its initiatives, the society is advancing a culture of innovation and strategic foresight to build a more resilient and sustainable future.
