A comprehensive study conducted by the IBM Institute for Business Value (IBV) in collaboration with Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) has unveiled compelling insights into the efficacy of Chief AI Officer (CAIO) appointments in driving enterprise-wide #AI strategy and execution. According to the global study, businesses achieve up to 36% higher ROI on AI initiatives when CAIOs are entrusted with more centralized strategy execution.

The UAE’s CAIO landscape is characterized by robust leadership support, with 90% of UAE CAIOs reporting sufficient CEO backing and 86% receiving broad C-suite endorsement, outpacing global averages. CAIOs in the UAE are central to AI strategy and implementation, with 79% controlling organizational AI budgets, and many prioritizing business case development, and leading direct AI implementation efforts.
