This session is exclusive to Dubai Future Accelerators – Cohort 8 Participants.

As part of our goal at the Dubai Future Accelerators program, we aim to help the companies succeed by opening up opportunities for them to connect to our wider ecosystem to learn, grow and build their network during and after the program.

In this session, Nabeel Javed and Rouba Ibrahim from Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Funds (MBRIF) will dive deep into empowering innovative startups to re-shape tomorrow through unique blend of services to realize startups potential and tackle the following:

• Building a successful business model
• Supporting your market entry
• Helping gain access to finance to grow your business

Speakers:

Nabeel Javed, Relationship Manager at MBRIF

Nabeel Javed is the Relationship Manager for the Guarantee Scheme under the Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund (MBRIF), a UAE-based Federal initiative supporting innovators in accessing financing through the provision of a government-backed guarantee.

Prior to joining MBRIF, Nabeel was working in the Corporate and Commercial banking sector of the UAE, wherein he was in-charge with client relationship management, portfolio management and analyst roles specialized in debt financing for SMEs, Emerging Corporates and Large Corporates. His banking tenure helped him gain expertise in business analysis, financial modelling and analysis, relationship management, and risk analysis.

Besides from being a CFA charter holder since 2019, Nabeel graduated with a BSc in Accounting from the University of Wollongong (New South Wales) in May 2012. He also holds a certification from Moody’s Analytics – Omega Performance (Credit Skills Assessment).

Rouba Ibrahim, MBRIF Innovation Accelerator

Rouba Ibrahim looks after the Innovation Accelerator programme from Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Funds (MBRIF), a UAE-based Federal initiative supporting innovators in accessing financing through the provision of a government-backed guarantee.

Prior to joining MBRIF, Rouba gained extensive experience in the consulting and banking domains in the UAE, Cyprus and Canada. Her banking tenure was mainly focused on SME banking experienced in business analysis, credit and risk analysis and relationship management.

Besides from being a CMA since 2013, Rouba graduated with a MSc in Finance from Durham University (UK).

The MBRIF is a federal initiative conceived and launched by the UAE Ministry of Finance (MoF). The initiative seeks to identify and nurture high potential innovations both within the UAE and abroad. It aims to enhance growth potential of innovative businesses and shape the future of the UAEs economy. Currently, the MBRIF consists of two programs, these are:

• Guarantee Scheme (launched 2016)
• Innovation Accelerator (launched 2019)

MBRIF focuses on the seven sectors of the UAE National Innovation Strategy: Space, Transport, Education, Technology, Water, Clean Energy and Health.
