Networking Day was more than just a warm-up to the 2024 Edition of the Dubai Future Forum, it was an invitation to ground the future in the wisdom of the past. Held on 18 November, the day unfolded in the heart of Old Dubai, where the city’s story began – along the alleys of Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood and Dubai Creek.
Far from the gleaming towers of the future and beyond the usual conference setting, guests were invited to slow down and experience the depth and richness of the UAE’s heritage. The scent of oud and Arabic coffee filled the air as participants explored restored wind-tower houses, visited traditional souks, and took part in guided cultural experiences that offered insight into the values, customs, and everyday life that shaped the nation.
A highlight of the day was a shared Emirati meal in an Arabian-style courtyard, where guests gathered for conversations over traditional dishes. These moments – informal, intimate, and infused with generosity – sparked deeper dialogue and new relationships among participants.
