Let’s Build Machines as Complex as Nature – Radical Innovation in a World of A.I.-based Engineering

Overview

The world of engineering and manufacturing is undergoing a fundamental shift. By using computer algorithms and A.I., objects can be engineered that allow us to dramatically speed up innovation in technical products. At the same time, we can now build Digital Factories based on Industrial 3D Printing technologies that enable us to rethink how we ship products, conduct trade and implement global supply chains.

Hyperganic CEO Lin Kayser, a German serial entrepreneur, and Josefine Lissner, Aerospace Engineer and Strategic Engineering Lead at Hyperganic, will discuss how this new paradigm will help us tackle some of mankind’s biggest engineering challenges.

About Hyperganic:

Hyperganic builds software to design objects that are as complex, functional, elegant and sustainable as Nature. Their algorithms generate parts, structures and entire machines through a process of digital evolution. Hyperganic technology enables output on advanced industrial 3D printers. Since 2015, they have been working with the leading companies, engineers, designers and scientists all over the world.

Speakers

Lin Kayser, Co-founder and CEO of Hyperganic, a company transforming how we design and manufacture objects using A.I. and computer algorithms. Kayser is a serial entrepreneur who started his first company at the age of 19, thirty years ago. In the 1990s, he helped pioneer industrial control systems based on PC technology with German tech startup ARADEX. The company’s systems powered a broad range of industrial machines, from CNC machines to the printing machines for the Euro banknotes. In 2000 he started IRIDAS, which created technology for the nascent digital film market in Hollywood. IRIDAS software powered the world’s first digital cinema for The Matrix movies and quickly became a leader in high end image processing for the global movie industry. In 2011, IRIDAS was acquired by Adobe, where Kayser worked for 3 years as a Director. In 2014, Kayser left Adobe to focus on Hyperganic.

Josefine Lissner is the Strategic Engineering Lead at the Hyperganic, a company which is shifting the paradigm of how we design physical objects using a combination of A.I. and computer algorithms. Ms. Lissner graduated with a Masters in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering from the University of Stuttgart in Germany. As part of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas engineering team she contributed to the aerodynamic design of the Formula 1 race car that won the world championships in 2018. Her work at Hyperganic focuses on next-generation hardware for spaceflight, advanced automotive applications, bio printing and other strategic areas.
