About the Alliance
The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), in collaboration with its partnering universities, and the Dubai Future Foundation, represented by Dubai Future Labs, are joining forces to conduct research and development activities aligning with JST’s Moonshot Goal 1 Program: “Realization of a society in which human beings can be free from limitations of body, brain, space, and time by 2050”. This goal is part of JST’s ambitious “Moonshot Research and Development” program. The realization of an Avatar-Symbiotic society where everyone can perform active roles without constraint.
Objectives of the Alliance
Conduct cutting-edge research activities related to cybernetic avatars under three R&D projects:

Enabling a single operator to control a large number of Cybernetic Avatars (CAs).

Developing a Cybernetic Avatar Robot designed for effective multicultural interactions.

Conducting societal acceptance studies of various types of Cybernetic Avatars (CAs) in multi-cultural environments.
Expected outcomes
- Publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research papers.
- Developing joint intellectual property (IP).
- Producing technical reports and other media content for public engagement
